Budget-Friendly Fragrance Finds: Top Perfume Dupes You Need to Know

Fragrance can be a big beauty splurge, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. Brands like Dossier, Lazy Royal, Oakcha, and Alt have taken advantage of consumers’ obsession with high-end fragrance, selling lower-priced scents “inspired by” the originals.

Finding the best perfume dupes on the high street can be a life-changer. Here are our top picks.

Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana

This summery fragrance smells like a breath of fresh air. It is infused with notes of Sicilian lemon, apple, and cedar with middle marine aquatic notes.

Its heart notes are made up of bamboo, jasmine, and white rose that bring a floral touch to the fragrance. The base of the perfume is composed of cedar wood, amber, and musk.

Light Blue has become a signature scent of Dolce and Gabbana that exudes the essence of the Mediterranean. Its subtle incredible aroma attracts and captivates people. But its price tag might make it a luxury fantasy that isn’t within the budget of many. Fortunately, there are plenty of dupes that will give you a similar experience at a much more affordable rate.

Suddenly Madame Glamour by Chanel

Chanel Mademoiselle is one of the world’s most iconic perfumes and it’s easy to see why – it smells delicious. But if you’re not a fan of the brand hysteria, this fragrance from Lidl could be your new go-to.

It shares similar scent notes to the designer perfume, including patchouli, vetiver, rose ylang-ylang and more. And money-saving expert Martin Lewis claims it’s ‘virtually indistinguishable’ from Coco Mademoiselle in blind tests.

M&S have also released a dupe for YSL’s Black Opium that has gone TikTok viral – and it costs only PS10 for a 100ml bottle. You can even save a further PS10 with TOTUM cashback.

Midnight Blossom by M&S

Designer fragrances are great but they can be pricey, which is why high street favourites like M&S are making all the headlines for their perfume dupes. From PS6 for a 30ml bottle to over PS100 for a 100ml bottle, the retailer has some amazing options that smell just like some of your fave scents.

For example, this M&S Discover Soft Iris perfume is a cult-favourite and smells just like the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. It’s also much cheaper at PS6 for a small bottle or PS10 for a large one. The M&S Beach Walk perfume is another summery fave and smells just like Byredo’s Sundazed.

Lost Cherry by Tom Ford

Despite its polarizing reception, Lost Cherry remains an unmissable scent. Its complex blend of fruitiness and nutty notes make it a perfume that can be worn for any occasion, but its price-point has some fragrance lovers hesitating to take the plunge.

The full-bodied fragrance mingles black cherry with cherry liqueur notes and a touch of bitter almond. The sweetness is balanced by floral notes of Turkish rose and jasmine sambac and accentuated by Peru balsam and sandalwood.

Luckily, there are plenty of  parfum dupes for the beloved Tom Ford perfume on the market that capture its unique scent profile. Whether you’re in the mood for a romantic evening or an everyday scent, we’ve found a few of our favorites that are sure to get you noticed without making your wallet cry.

Gypsy Water by Byredo

This perfume by Byredo is an ode to Romany culture, and it’s a cult classic loved by celebrities (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley swears by it). It’s dreamy, light, and the perfect fragrance for summer.

The olfactory trail of Gypsy Water feels like lemon Hostess cupcakes tempered by woody, dry forest notes. It’s a great unisex scent, and it really just makes you feel calm.

The performance and longevity of this perfume isn’t great, though. It lasts about six hours with weak sillage and projection on the skin. It’s also a bit pricey for what it is. We recommend trying a sample first before investing in the full bottle.

Rose by Chloe

This scent is a light, airy take on the classic rose perfume. Its top notes of grapefruit and litchi sway into florals of magnolia and damask rose. The base is rich with oakmoss, amber, and musk that are the perfect complement to the rose.

Other rose fragrances worth considering are the original Chloe Rose Naturelle, a newer interpretation of the signature that exalts the emblematic flower even more; Louis Vuitton’s Les Sables Roses Eau de Parfum, which is a full-bodied rose with aromatic Sichuan pepper; and Le Labo’s Rose 31 Perfume, a unique floral blend of aldehydes and practically every variety of rose.

Spritz generously on wrists, neck and pulse points. Your body heat will diffuse the fragrance throughout the day for a long-lasting effect.
