Who Should Get an IV Treatment?

There are no specific qualifications to get an IV. Insurance does not cover it, so really anyone who wants to pay for it can get it. However, there is a long list of medical conditions that IV has been shown to help with in particular. There are so many different types of IV solutions that can be used for different things. For example, a Vitamin C boost could be used when someone is feeling under the weather. It can help boost the immune system and recover faster.

People who suffer from the following conditions have especially benefited from IV nutrient therapy. Please keep in mind that IV therapy is not a primary care solution for any of these issues. IV is simply used as an additional aid to complement an existing treatment prescribed by your doctor.

Arthritis

Anti-inflammatory IV administration can help someone suffering from rheumatoid arthritis by decreasing joint inflammation. An IV during an intense flare-up can also reduce pain and hopefully shorten the duration of the attack. Some people believe high dose Vitamin C infusions help with arthritis although there is no scientific evidence.

Diabetes

Dehydration is a common issue for those with diabetes. An IV treatment is the most efficient way to rehydrate someone quickly. It can also help with nutrition and blood glucose levels and can help with someone suffering from DKA or hypoglycemia due to diabetes.

Eczema

Eczema is a type of dermatitis or skin irritation. It can be seen at all ages and in varying degrees of severity. Stress can exacerbate eczema symptoms. In some cases, IV therapy might include nutrients like magnesium or certain vitamins that can help manage stress, potentially leading to improvements in eczema symptoms.

Headaches

IV can be used to treat symptoms of headaches such as severe migraines but it can also be used to treat what may be causing the headaches such as dehydration. Migraines can cause nausea and severe pain and sensitivity. IV nutritional therapy can help with that as well as helping you stay hydrated so that there is less of a chance that the headaches will soon return.

Immune Disorders

Immunities are essential to keep our bodies safe and prevent constant illness. Some people have either an overactive immune system or a weakened immune system. Both of these can be very scary. An IV of immunoglobulins could help someone with a weakened immune system to fight off infection. If someone has an overactive immune system their body can sometimes attack things that are healthy and stable. Immunosuppressants can be administered to help with this.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread through tick bites. If ticks are common in your area, you should be especially careful. The good news is that IV treatment has been shown to help treat it because the administration of antibiotics intravenously is much more likely to be absorbed and can be given in stronger doses. If you suffer from chronic or advanced Lyme disease you should consider an IV approach with the supervision of a medical professional.
