Planning a trip away for your employees? Here are three great ideas

Planning a trip away for your employees is a lot of fun, especially when you know they are going to enjoy the surprise. It’s a great way to show appreciation for their hard work, boost team morale, and create lasting memories outside of the office.

The key to deciding on what to do is to subtly speak to your employees and see what they like to do in their spare time. For example, if the majority enjoy working out, then a walking holiday in England could be a great idea. If they enjoy relaxing, then a spa break could be something you look into, or to keep things simple, you could book a city break somewhere local.

Keep on reading for our quick guide on three great ideas for a trip away with your employees.

Walking Holiday

Have you ever looked into a walking holiday before? They are great for business breaks, for a number of reasons. Not only are they good if your employees like being active (they are reasonably physical), but walking holidays allow your employees to catch up outside the working environment.

Walking holidays can be booked all around the world, from scenic countryside trails and coastal paths to rugged mountain routes and historic pilgrimage trails. No matter the destination, we are sure your staff will have a great time.

Spa Break

A spa break is the ultimate way to unwind and recharge both body and mind. It gives your employees a moment to forget about the stresses of everyday life and relax in the tranquil surroundings. When booking a spa break, you could include a treatment for each of your staff members (this depends on how many people are going). A spa break is also a popular option as it can be done over one or two days, meaning you aren’t having to take too much time off.

City Break

Above, we mentioned a spa break being great due to the limited time off they often require. The same can be said for a city break. With plenty to see and do packed into a short timeframe, city breaks allow employees to experience new cultures, enjoy great food, and explore vibrant surroundings without needing extended time away from work. Depending on where you are based, you could do a quick flight from England to France or from France to Switzerland – the flights are only a few hours, meaning they are more affordable than long-haul flights.

Whatever your decision on where to go for your trip away, we are sure your employees will love it. In most cases, they will simply be grateful that you are taking them away and treating them to something nice. The thoughtfulness behind the gesture often means just as much as the destination itself, creating a sense of appreciation and strengthening the bond with your employees.

What trip are you planning on doing, and how long will you be going for? Will you be trying one of the suggestions above? Is there a trip away that we haven’t mentioned that you think we should have included? Let us know in the comment box below. We look forward to hearing from you.
